High Academics.
Real-World Learning. Confident Kids.
Meridian Academy is Saskatchewan’s only project-based, place-based independent school in Regina where students build deep understanding, strong character, and lasting confidence, inside the classroom and beyond it.
Education Should Do More Than Prepare Students for Tests. It Should Prepare Students for Life.
- At Meridian, students are not sitting in rows memorizing facts. They are designing, building, presenting, debating, exploring, and reflecting.
- They master strong literacy and numeracy foundations, then apply those skills through meaningful, real-world projects.
- They spend time outdoors every day, using Regina’s natural landscape as a living classroom. And they grow not just academically, but emotionally, physically, and personally.
- This is not one-size-fits-all education. This is purposeful, high-standard learning designed to develop the whole child.
OUR LEARNING MODEL
Meridian Academy Learning Model
High Academics.
Real-World Learning.
Confident Kids.
Our program is fully aligned with the Saskatchewan curriculum and delivered by certified educators, then extended through mastery learning, interdisciplinary projects, and real-world application.
01.
High Academic Standards
We prioritize structured literacy, strong numeracy, critical thinking, and clear academic progression. Our students build deep mastery, not surface memorization.
02.
Place-Based & Outdoor Integration
Located one block from Wascana Park, our campus extends beyond four walls. Nature becomes a laboratory, a studio, and a classroom
03.
Community
Meridian Academy fosters learning through strong relationships, creating a culture of belonging where students actively contribute to shared work and spaces. Through collaboration, students discover that their growth is connected to the well-being of others, and that community extends far beyond the classroom walls
04.
Whole-Child Development
We intentionally develop emotional intelligence, physical vitality, leadership, and character — because confident learners become capable adults.
05.
Project-Based Learning
Students engage in interdisciplinary projects that require research, collaboration, presentation, and real-world problem-solving. Learning lasts because it is meaningful.
06.
Global Citizenship
At Meridian Academy, students learn that they are part of an interconnected world. They explore diverse perspectives and consider how their choices affect others. This work supports curiosity, respect, and thoughtful participation in local and global communities.
07.
Exnovative
Meridian Academy prioritizes deep, meaningful learning by continually reflecting on and refining its practices, keeping what works and redesigning what doesn’t, to create space for mastery, reflection, and purposeful innovation.
08.
Truth and Reconciliation
At Meridian Academy, we approach learning with honesty about history, relationships, and responsibility. We value diverse perspectives and knowledge systems and support students in developing respect, awareness, and care for others and for the places they live. This work is ongoing and grounded in reflection and relationship.
A DAY AT MERIDIAN
Each day begins outdoors, not as a break from learning, but as preparation for it.
Opening the Day with Movement and Mindfulness
Students start with movement, fresh air, and brief grounding exercises designed to regulate the nervous system, increase oxygen flow, and activate focus. Research consistently shows that physical movement and time outdoors improve attention, cognitive function, and emotional regulation, all essential for high-level learning.
Deep Learning in Literacy and Numeracy
With minds alert and bodies engaged, students move into focused academic instruction: reading, writing, mathematics, and critical thinking taught with clarity and rigor.
Hands-On, Minds-On Exploration
Midday may include measuring ecosystems in the park, mapping a community project, or conducting hands-on science experiments connected to a broader inquiry.
Collaboration and Communication
Afternoons include collaboration, reflection, movement, and presentation, where students articulate ideas, defend their thinking, and build confidence through authentic expression.
Students are active participants in their learning. They are not passive recipients of information.
WE BUILD CONFIDENCE
Confidence Is Not Accidental. It’s Developed.
At Meridian, students:
- Take intellectual risks
Solve complex problems
Lead discussions
Respond to individualized feedback
Move their bodies daily
Reflect on their growth

Because confidence grows when children are known, challenged, and supported.
